Kangaroo Lake Association’s Annual Meeting will be on August 7, 2021 starting at 9am.
The meeting will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in their Assembly Hall. Address: 7973 Hwy 57, Baileys Harbor
- We have changed the date and location of our Annual Membership Meeting. The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM and last no longer than an hour or so.
- Nick Legler, our Door County Fisheries DNR Director, will be there to answer any questions you might have about the lake and the recent fish survey that was conducted. The survey was designed to document and characterize the fish populations of the lake and to give a picture of the status of those populations. The survey also allows for the creation of recommendations that help maintain, restore, or enhance fish populations and habitat within Kangaroo Lake.
- We will also address the availability of quality Internet service around the lake. Many of you participated in our recent internet survey and we will present the results with possible steps we can take to improve our options. We will have a presentation from Kurt Kiefer on the current situation regarding internet service in Door County/Baileys Harbor and what he sees as both the short and long term solutions. Mr. Kiefer, recently retired to Door County, was the Assistant State Superintendent for the Division of Libraries and Technology at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction since September 2010. At DPI, Mr. Kiefer served as both the Wisconsin state librarian and the DPI’s Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining DPI, Kurt was employed at Madison Metropolitan School District for 16 years where he served as CIO, research and assessment director, registrar, and student information manager. Before joining Madison Schools, Kurt worked for 10 years in the private sector in several research capacities.
Also, trophies will be presented during the annual meeting to:
